At last! The new NZQA Infrastructure Procurement Qualification goes live

Hurrah – it’s official! Connexis (the Infrastructure ITO) is delighted to announce that the new NZQA Procurement qualification is now fully approved and open for business.

A NZ Procurement Qualification that’s designed for our public sector procurement practitioners

This is excellent news for all those procurement managers and practitioners who are looking for a NZ-based pragmatic and work-based qualification to demonstrate their competence in procurement projects that apply to any area of infrastructure construction or maintenance.

All of Infrastructure now included

This Level Six NZQA qualification has been broadened now to apply to transport, three waters, power and transmission, airports, roads, rail, public works construction, telecommunications, waste management, civil engineering, parks and reserves, and more.

What’s covered?

Graduates with the NZ Certificate in Infrastructure Procurement will be competent in:

  1. Procurement Planning
  2. Developing RFx Documents
  3. Processing Tenders
  4. Evaluating Tenders
  5. Applying legal and ethical standards in procurement.

What’s more, it builds in key knowledge and application of NZ Government Rules of Sourcing and a sound grounding in tendering best practice.

Those completing the qualification will learn and demonstrate practices that minimise costs associated with procurement, while providing robust, efficient, targeted procurement methods.

Costs for registration and assessment are modest, and most people take between 6-18 months to complete the qualification (the timing is largely up to you).

Pssst! Want to check out the draft assessment materials?

The focus of assessment for this qualification is on real-life evidence of procurement tasks undertaken within your workplace contexts. We’re currently piloting the draft assessment materials, so if you would like to take a sneaky peak or give us some feedback, we’d love to hear from you.
